TERRANAUT (2005, 2006) |
|
The Terranaut Project was launched in 2005, at Exit Art in NYC, to achieve the aquatic dream of dry land exploration. Terranaut is an autonomous robotic vehicle piloted by a fish. A camera mounted above the aqueous cockpit enables an on-board computer to track the location of the fish within the bowl. The computer uses that data to control the motors propelling each of the vehicle's two drive wheels. Thus, the fish navigates over dry land at will. Terranaut II expanded the land exploration to the Williamson Gallery in Pasedena, CA. |
